BrightPoint and Foxconn to deliver aftermarket services

Distributor combines with firm part of mobile device manufacturer Foxconn Technology Group to provide device lifecycle solution to customers in EMEA  

BrightPoint and Foxconn Global Services Division have signed a deal to provide technical aftermarket services to both existing and new customers throughout EMEA.

BrightPoint said the collaboration will deliver a fully integrated device lifecycle solution including inventory management of devices and spares, localised and regional returns management, repair and return services, triage and disposition, product fulfilment and product recycling.

BrightPoint said that be leveraging its channels and global reach, devices will be introduced into new or developing markets at a vastly reduced cost.

It added the partnership will deliver industry-leading technical governance and supply chain integration, which will reduce turnaround times, improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs, inventory and waste output.

BrightPoint president for EMEA Anurag Gupta (pictured) said: “Our strategic alliance with Foxconn Global Services Division combines their world-class technical capabilities with BrightPoint’s localised suite of end-to-end supply chain and customisation solutions, meaning we can offer the wireless device industry a tangible solution to the long-running problem of fragmented and inconsistent reverse logistics.

“Customers will experience a premium service, as well as a premium level of refurbished device quality, maximising the value of the assets in circulation.”

Foxconn Global Services Division vice president Henk Knoop said: “The partnership with BrightPoint is part of the Foxconn Global Service Division (GSD) EMEA growth strategy to deliver a world-class optimised solution to existing and new customers with a focus on quality and cost and delivery.

“This alliance will enhance the customer experience with BrightPoint’s improved logistics services complemented by our strong technical competence and material management capabilities.”
