Accessories distributor to begin major six-figure expansion after making £29 million
Mobile accessories distributor Frequency Telecom is planning a major expansion after increasing sales by 38 per cent to a record £29 million in the financial year to March 31.
The Chessington-based company, which also saw product shipments increase by 68 per cent year on year, is spending a six-fi gure sum on recruiting new staff, training, equipment and expanding its current office locations.
Frequency Telecom managing director Gareth Limpenny (pictured) told Mobile News the company will increase staff numbers from 60 to 70 over the coming months. This is in addition to 11 new appointments already this year.
Limpenny is looking to recruit a European sales director, international account manager, international account manager for fashion accessories, brand manager, national account manager, senior sales executive for customised cases and sales executive for dealer sales.
Frequency will open a second office in the Barwell Business Park in Chessington later this year – taking its UK office count to three, having opened a small office in Cheshire previously.
Frequency also trades in France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Israel, Scandinavia and Russia. Last October, Frequency opened regional offices in Germany and Russia.
Frequency’s portfolio includes protective cases from Case-Mate, audio products from earphone manufacturer Jays, power products from Griffin, signal boosters from Nextivity and mobile accessories from HTC and Motorola.
