Operator to use social media to crowdsource suggestions for which brands it should negotiate with to create new deals

O2 is planning to use social media to ask its customers which deals it should offer on its Priority Moments platform.

The operator wants customers to tweet suggested deals or brands using the hashtag #o2prioritymoments or write their suggestions on the O2 Facebook page.

O2 will then try to negotiate with the suggested brands to add new deals to Priority Moments.

O2 claims the consultation will be the first time a major brand has used crowdsourcing to work out which offers to negotiate for its customers.

O2 marketing and consumer director Sally Cowdry said: “Priority Moments is all about creating great experiences and adding value for our customers.

“Now we want to take that a step further by asking them to tell us what brands they would like us to approach for new offers via Priority Moments.

“We recognize that times are tough and budgets are tight across many UK households so this is a further demonstration of how we’re listening to our customers and promising to deliver on their behalf.”

O2 says that Priority Moments has carried 3,400 offers from more than 300 brands and provided total savings £7.5 million since launching in July last year.
