Inquest hears Mark Breslin died of ethanol intoxication during business trip to the US, while five times the drink-drive limit
Vodafone head of commercial for global M2M Mark Breslin drank himself to death during a business trip to the US, an inquest heard yesterday.
Mr Breslin was found sprawled in his suite at the Hotel 1000 the day after a night out in Seattle. He was five times the drink-drive limit.
He had been drinking at the hotel bar before his night out, and later drank almost everything from his room’s minibar.
A post-mortem examination found the cause of Mr Breslin’s death was ethanol intoxication.
Following his death, colleagues at Vodafone raised almost £3,500 for the British Heart Foundation in his memory.
Mr Breslin had been at Vodafone since 2007 and had held the roles of pricing manager and commercial development manager for global M2M before taking up his most recent role in September 2010.
