Vodafone expands its own handset portfolio with the follow-up to the original Smart handset, costing £70 on prepay
Vodafone has launched its entry-level Smart II handset, costing £70 on prepay. It is the follow-up to the Vodafone Smart and is available in dark grey and white.
The phone runs off Android 2.3 Gingerbread and comes with a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and A-GPS for mapping and navigation functions.
It has 150MB of internal memory that can be expanded by up to 32GB with a memory card. A 2GB memory card also comes boxed with the phone.
Also included are social networking services such as Facebook and Twitter, location-based sopping discount app Vouchercloud and dedicated Vodafone apps for customers to track their spending and download the best new apps and music.
Vodafone Group terminals director Patrick Chomet said: “The Smart II is one of the most important devices we have ever introduced. It delivers a level of performance, functionality and quality that is traditionally the preserve of high-end smartphones but at an exceptionally affordable price.
“We believe the Smart II could represent a tipping point in the evolution of the market, bringing a new wave of consumers to the supermobile world for the first time.”
