ESPN launches online trial version of Lumia app

Promotional version of ESPN’s Nokia app available on broadcaster’s website

ESPN has launched an online emulator of the ESPN Hub, an app made for the Nokia Lumia range, as part of a its new advertising campaign.

The app and the advertisement both use content live from the sports broadcaster’s website as well as full-length videos and updates on ESPN’s social media activity, with the advertisement aimed at giving a taste of what the Nokia app has to offer.

Users of the emulator can select content for Football, Cricket, Formula 1 and Rugby Union or other sports via the ‘all sports’ option.

ESPN vice president of global partnering and application development Bryan Biniak said: “Our partnership with ESPN brings together world leaders in sports and mobile, to deliver outstanding, exclusive experiences to Nokia Lumia consumers, including ESPN’s ground breaking ESPN Sports Hub and Fantasy Sports, F1, and Cricket applications. This cross platform, integrated content publishing and marketing campaign underlines our ability to reach sports fans in new and engaging ways, both on our Nokia Lumia smartphones, and via innovative, joint marketing programmes.”
