Followup to Galaxy Mini being sold by operators including Orange and T-Mobile
Samsung has begun selling the Galaxy Mini 2, a new low-end handset aimed at consumers buying their first smartphone.
Samsung said operators including Orange and T-Mobile will sell the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2, which hit stores on June 4.
The Mini 2 is 11.9mm thick and features an 800MHz processor, a 3-megapixel camera and a 3.27-inch HVGA touch-screen.
The Mini 2 is the followup to the Galaxy Mini, launched in January last year.
Samsung UK and Ireland telecommunications and networks division vice president Simon Stanford said: “We’ve had a good response to the Galaxy Mini since it launched last year, particularly among the ‘first smartphone generation.
“Smartphone growth is continuing at pace this year, and not just at the premium end of the market.
“Handsets such as the Galaxy Mini 2 are needed to meet the growing demand for more affordable devices for customers on the lookout for their first smartphone.”
