Everything Everywhere says it expects Ofcom to review networking share proposal, but welcomes move to accelerate 4G
Everything Everywhere (EE) has said it “expects” regulator Ofcom to review O2 and Vodafone’s plans to share their network infrastructure in the UK.
O2 and Vodafone announced on June 8 plans to share parts of their UK network to save costs, boost innovation and accelerate the roll out of 4G.
EE welcomed the rival operators’ decision to work together to introduce 4G, but said that Ofcom should review the proposal to ensure it does not undermine competition.
A spokesperson said: “It is good to see the other two key players in the UK market being spurred to action following our call to bring 4G to Britain this year.
“As with any plan of this scale, we would expect Ofcom to carefully review the proposal to ensure long-term fairness and competition across all aspects of the industry.”
