Three-year contract provides customers with banking services app and SMS balance alerts
Commerce network provider Monitise has signed a three-year deal with The Co-operative Bank to provide and app and SMS alerts for its mobile banking services.
The app, which allows customers to check their balances, access mini statements, find branches and cashpoints is initially available for iPhone with other versions to be developed in the coming months.
Customers who don’t have access to the app, or are using non-Smartphones can set up regular SMS balance updates and alerts when their funds reach a set level.
“The Co-operative Bank’s mobile banking service provides an easy and quick way for customers to stay on top of their financial affairs when they are on the move,” said Monitise Group chief executive Alastair Lukies. “Mobile has emerged as the most engaging and efficient way to reach new and existing customers, so we are delighted to develop and deliver The Co-operative Bank’s new service.”
Monitise has also developed apps for HSBC, RBS and Lloyds Banking Group as well as financial institutions in the US, India and Africa.
