Google launches 7-inch tablet with 8GB version costing £159 to ship in the UK in mid-July
Google has unveiled its first own-brand tablet, the Nexus 7, at its I/O developer conference in San Francisco.
The 7-inch device, made by Asus, features a quad-core processor and a new version of the Android operating system called Jelly Bean.
Google has begun taking preorders for an 8GB version of the Nexus 7 costing £159 on its Play Store which will ship in mid-July.
However, it is unclear when the 16GB version of the device wil be available.
At the developer conference Google also showed off its Project Glass glasses, which are designed for users to record images and film from their own point of view and to overlay information over what a user is looking at.
