Operator says the return of full network service to hundreds of thousands of affected customers should occur in the next few hours
O2 is expecting full mobile network service to return to all affected customers this afternoon, according to an update posted on its official Facebook page.
Hundreds of thousands of O2 customers still remain without a 3G service as problems with the network continued overnight and into this morning (July 12).
Customers have been advised to switch off 3G in their settings, which will enable them to use the 2G service until 3G is restored – which is expected to take place gradually throughout today.
Data and 2G services were restored at 8am today, 18 and a half hours after problems were first reported by customers spread across the UK who were unable to text, call or use data services.
