Operator’s services now fully restored to the hundreds of thousands of customers that have been unable to make calls, text or use data on their mobiles
O2 has announced that its 2G and 3G services are now working fully for any customers that have suffered from its network outage in the past 24 hours.
This morning, hundreds of thousands of O2 customers remained without a 3G service as problems with the network continued overnight and into today.
Data and 2G services were restored at 8am today, 18-and-a-half hours after problems were first reported by customers spread across the UK who were unable to text, call or use data services.
Customers were advised to switch off 3G in their settings, which enabled them to use the 2G service until 3G was restored, which took place gradually throughout today.
In an update later in the morning, the operator said it expected full mobile network service to return this afternoon to the customers affected by the issue.
