O2 launches free WiFi service at London tourist hotspots

Free service available to customers of any network around parts of Westminster and Kensington

O2 has launched free WiFi hotspots around many of London’s most popular landmarks with ‘O2 Angels’ and models dressed half in swimwear and half in business attire to represent ‘surfing the web on the go’ on the streets today (July 25).

The service is free to customers of any network, following registration, and has been arranged in association with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the City of Westminster.

The hotspots are: Parliament Square, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and on stretches of Oxford Street, Regent Street, around the South Kensington Museums down Exhibition Road and High Street Kensington.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “With millions of extra people coming to town for the Games, we want to ensure we showcase the Capital as the best city in the world to work and visit, and the addition of free WiFi to some of our most popular landmarks is crucial in helping to maintain that reputation.”
