Former Telstra exec replaces ethnic MVNO’s co-founder Yoganathan Ratheesan, who becomes chairman of the Group
Lebara Mobile has appointed David Moffatt as its new CEO. Yoganathan Ratheesan has become chairman of Lebara Group after holding the position of CEO since he co-founded the company in 2001.
Moffatt (pictured left) spent nine years at Austrialin telecoms company Telstra, first as CFO and Group MD of finance and administration and subsequently as Group MD of consumer.
Prior to his time at Telstra, Moffatt was CEO of diversified financial services company GE Capaital in Austrlai between 1995 and 2001.
Yoganathan (pictured right) co-founded ethnic MVNO Lebara with partners Leon R. Ranjith and Baskaran Kandiah. The company now has around four million customers, 1,000 employees and operations in eight countries, including the UK. In the last three years the company has grown revenues by more than 278 million.

At Lebara’s 10th anniversary last year, Yoganathan announced the company’s ambition to be the brand of choice for one billion people by 2020.
