Manufacturer admits Lumia launch footage was shot by professional cameraman to ‘simulate’ what the new device can do

Nokia has been forced to apologise after a video shown at the launch of its new range of Lumias clearly shows a professional cameraman filming the footage rather than someone using a new Nokia device, as the advert suggests.

The statement, published on the official Nokia blog entitled ‘An apology is due’, said the company was simply trying to represent what will be possible using the new high-end Lumia.

It reads: ‘In an effort to demonstrate the benefits of optical image stabilisation (OIS) (which eliminates blurry images and improves pictures shot in low light conditions), we produced a video that simulates what we will be able to deliver with OIS.

‘Of course, hindsight is 20/20, but we should have posted a disclaimer stating this was a representation of OIS only. This was not shot with a Lumia 920. At least, not yet. We apologize for the confusion we created.’
