The banks have partnered with Visa Europe to create TouchPay, a mobile payments service for the iPhone 4 and 4S
RBS and NatWest have today together with Visa Europe launched TouchPay, a mobile payments service for the iPhone 4 and 4S.
The service, which will allow users to use their smartphone for transactions up to £20 without entering their PIN, will initially be available to the first 1,000 customers who registered for it.
During the application’s trial, more than 9,000 RBS customers registered.
RBS said TouchPay will be made available to all its and NatWest’s customers who have iPhones “in the near future.”
To use the service, customers attach the TouchPay cover to their smartphone and can then download the app from the Apple App Store.
