O2 adds Fuller’s pubs to list of Wi-Fi hotspots

The operator has launched Wifi in 389 Fuller’s pubs, free even if you are not an O2 customer

O2 has today launched Wi-Fi hotspots in 389 Fuller’s pubs, allowing users to access the web for free from any device regardless of whether they are an O2 customer.

It is part of a wider effort by the operator to deploy thousands of hotspots in 2012, including in Costa Coffee, McDonalds and Debenhams.

Gavin Franks, managing director of O2 Wi-Fi said: “To date, people have gathered around the pub’s communal screen to be entertained and informed. More and more, that role is being filled by the screen in our hand or on the table.”

Fuller’s Tenanted Operations Director Mike Clist added: “Wi-Fi, and free W-Fi in particular, has become another service that pubs are increasingly expected to offer.”

After signing up to the service, users will automatically be connected to O2’s Wi-Fi whenever they enter Fuller’s pubs or any other of it’s hotspots.
