Three to create 800 roles by 2014 as part of recruitment drive

Operator to employ a further 380 telesales staff at its Glasgow office with another 400 roles created across retail and in its Maidenhead office

Three is creating 380 new telesales jobs at its Glasgow offices by 2014 as part of a 800-strong, UK-wide recruitment drive. It coincides with a £3 million drive to upgrade the premises in the city.

The roles will be focused on telesales and will add to the 550 employees in the team. The new jobs will consist of 340 outbound sales advisors and 40 managers and support staff.

A multi-million pound project has also been launched to upgrade the offices, which will include a complete revamp and additional space to accomodate new staff.

Public body Scottish Enterprise is providing £1.8 million to support the expansion, with national agency Skills Development Scotland funding £270,000 worth of training opportunities.

The operator is also recruiting a further 400 roles in its retail operations across the UK and its head office in Maidenhead.

Three UK chief executive Dave Dyson (pictured) said: “As the UK’s fastest growing mobile company, we are experiencing a surge in demand for smartphones and we’re supporting that with a network that delivers a great internet experience.

“We have ambitious plans for growth and the expanded team in Scotland has a huge role to play in realising them. Glasgow’s can-do attitude has made it a natural choice.”
