Microsoft Office to work on iOS and Android phones


A statement on Microsoft Czech’s website says Office Mobile will be available as an app from March 2013 on the operating systems

Microsoft Office will work on Apple and Google products as well as Windows Phone.

The company have said that Office will work across iOS and Android. According to a press release from Microsoft’s Czech Republic subsidiary Office Mobile apps for the two operating systems will be available from March 2013.

The Verge has reported that Office Mobile for iOS will arrive first in late February or early March, the Android version in May.

According to sources cited by The Verge Office Mobile will first be available through free apps which will allow users to view documents on their smartphones.

The apps will require a Microsoft account and support Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents which can be edited with an Office 365 subscription.
