Fixed-line and broadband provider posts overall customer loss but increases footprint in mobile
TalkTalk has added 32,000 mobile customers in the three months up to the end of September.
The fixed-line provider also accounted for 3.9 per cent of all contract additions in the UK during the month of September, according to figures from GfK.
Its mobile base, which runs on the Vodafone network, now stands at 117,000 and is only available to customers taking other services from the provider.
Elsewhere in its half-yearly results the telecoms and broadband provider announced a 1.9 per cent drop in revenues to £828m with a net loss of 4,000 customers for its bundled services.
TalkTalk chief executive Dido Harding said: “These results show real trading momentum and are a strong platform from which to build towards our medium term growth targets. Our mobile handset proposition is growing meaningfully in the contract handset market.
“The demand we are seeing for additional products from our increasingly profitable and stable customer base, the progress we are making in TalkTalk Business, and the savings we expect from the next phase of simplifying the business, underpin our confidence in delivering our targets.”
