NSPCC, Childline and a variety of regional good causes already signed-up to benefit from the service
Charity-focused MVNO The People’s Operator (TPO) has launched today, offering customers the opportunity to donate a share of their spend to a cause of their choice.
Running on the EE network, through aggregator Transatel, a quarter of its profits are shared out between a number of good causes with customers able to chose which organisation to give a further 10 per cent of their spend to.
If the charity signs-up customers themselves the extra 10 per cent will automatically go to that good cause.
The service is currently available on prepay with contracts becoming available in the new year. On the prepay tariff, for a £10 top up customers will receive unlimited calls and texts. Data charges and handset and contract details have yet to be revealed by the MVNO.
Charities and good causes already signed up include the NSPCC, Childline and the Dimbleby Cancer Centre.
