Nokia’s cheapest Windows Phone 8 smartphone is expected to come to the UK in early 2013
Nokia has unveiled its third Windows Phone 8 smartphone today, the Lumia 620.
The smartphone is aimed at the lower, younger end of the market. It comes with a five megapixel camera and various applications that can remove unwanted objects from pictures.
It will go on sale for an estimated $249 (£155) in January 2013 in Asia, followed by Europe and the Middle East before expanding further.
Nokia Smart Devices executive vice president Jo Harlow said: “ We continue to execute on our strategy to reach new audiences and new markets.
“With its innovative design, the latest Windows Phone 8 software and signature experiences from Nokia, like Nokia lenses, Nokia Maps and Nokia Music, the Nokia Lumia 620 is a highly competitive smartphone at this price point.”
Nokia’s other Windows Phone 8 smartphones are the mid-range Lumia 820 and flagship Lumia 920, which are currently on sale in the UK.
