Channel partners sales director Nick Birtwistle to take over as director of small business in January

Vodafone director or small business Tim Stone will leave the operator in the new year to be replaced by channel partners sales director Nick Birtwistle.

Stone has been with the operator for 17 years working in both the consumer and business sides of the business. He is credited with increasing its MVNO market share and driving revenue and growth in the small business division.

His replacement has worked for the network for 12 years in roles across its commercial and sales teams.

A Vodafone UK spokesperson said: “After 17 years in Vodafone, Tim Stone has decided now is the right time for him to leave the company. Tim has been a key player in the growth of Vodafone, holding a number of key senior leadership positions.

“While in wholesale Tim was a key influence in changing the market, the architect of a number of major deals and as a consequence significantly increased Vodafone’s MVNO market share. He also spent time running the consumer sales organisation, substantially improving customer value. Most recently Tim has led the small business sales division in enterprise, driving revenue and margin growth.

“Nick has a wealth of experience working in Vodafone for over 12 years in various roles across commercial and sales. Most recently Nick has led the successful indirect channel partners business where he has instigated and led a number of key projects that have benefited both the partners and Vodafone.”
