Distributor pencils in a further three events for next year following a record breaking sixth conference last month
Tech Data Mobile will hold three more Aspire events throughout the UK next year following the success of its “record-breaking” sixth conference.
Aspire, which has been running since May 2011 and provides support and networking opportunities to help attendees boost sales in the mobile marketplace, will take place in March, June and October.
They follow the latest Aspire event at the Mayfair Hotel in London on November 28 which was attended by around 150 retailers, mobile dealers and IT resellers – the most the conference has ever attracted.
Sony Mobile was the headline sponsor following the launch of its Xperia T smartphone with a further 12 including handset manufacturers Samsung, HTC and Motorola, as well as accessory makers Otterbox, Belkin, Targus and Logitech.
The half-day event saw presentations from Tech Data Mobile, Sony Mobile, Microsoft and analyst firm CCS Insight, with attendees attending one-on-one meetings and demonstration areas.
Tech Data Mobile UK marketing manager Donna-Marie Adams said: “When we started Aspire we had to sell the event and explain what exactly was involved, but now we have a waiting list of attendees. We send out online questionnaires following each Aspire to see how many events they would like to see each year and how interesting it would be for them.
“The event scheduling is based on the time of year and what the sponsors have to say. The March show would follow Mobile World Congress so there would be a lot of news that wouldn’t have been communicated in one-to-one meetings, so we may have to extend it and make it a whole day format.
“A lot of work has gone into our rebrand attempting to position us as the number one distributor in terms of the products and services we can offer. It’s the biggest Aspire event to date and finishes the year off for us nicely.”
