Online reports show leaked invite to Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2013, where it will unveil the high-end smartphone
Samsung will launch its Galaxy S IV smartphone on March 4 according to online reports, meaning it will not be announcing the device at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona at the end of next month.
SamMobile.com has published a supposed leaked image of an invite to Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2013 from one of its Korean members, that says the Galaxy S IV will be unveiled at the event in Pyeongchang, South Korea. It is likely the event will be held in multiple countries.
It would mirror moves made by Samsung last year, in which the manufacturer didn’t launch the Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress and instead showed it off at its Unpacked 2012 event on May 3, 2012. The phone then went on sale on May 30.
SamMobile.com claimed it had received a tip from an insider at Samsung that the Galaxy S IV would be powered by a 2GHz quad-core processor and run off the Android 4.2 OS. It added it will also have a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED HD touchscreen, 13-megapixel rear camera and two-megapixel front camera.
