EE apologises for texts about direct debits sent ‘in error’

Operator sent out inaccurate messages about services and payments to customers this morning

EE has apologised for sending out text messages to some EE and T-Mobile customers informing them of inaccurate changes to their accounts.

According to the operator texts are relating to changes in direct debits and add-ons on customers’ accounts.

EE could not confirm how many customers had been sent messages.

A spokesperson for EE said: “Some T-Mobile and EE customers received a text this morning stating that there had been a change to the services they use, such as Direct Debit or add-ons. These texts were sent in error and no changes have been made to customers’ accounts. We are currently investigating the issue and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
