Paterson is expecting device shipments to increase, particularly in the tablet market, with the user experience becoming more important than technology and hardware
In 2013 and beyond, consumers will become more connected. A rise in the shipments of smartphones and tablets will see the average consumer household with over six connected devices. Tablets, in particular, will see shipments almost double in the next two years and smartphone users will also increase in 2013, to that of non-smartphone users.
With a current crowded and complex phone market, the user experience will become more important than technology and hardware, with consumers looking for value for money.
However, with the average mobile phone price increasing, brands will have to work even harder in 2013 to offer standout in the marketplace.
