Units could overheat and cause serious injury according to broadband provider

Virgin Media has recalled a number of power supplies for its modems over fears they may overheat, leading to ‘serious injury’ according to the company.

Affected customers have received letters and replacement power supplies with instructions on the safest way to disconnect the potentially faulty product.

The units were apparently sent to customers who joined NTL or Telewest before 2007, and any Virgin Media customers joining in 2007 or later are thought to be uneffeced.
