Samsung hints at Galaxy S IV unveiling on March 14

Invite for Samsung Mobile Unpacked event asks people to meet the next Galaxy

Samsung has hinted that it will launch its Galaxy S IV smartphone at the Samsung Unpacked event in New York on March 14.

Invites to the event were sent out this morning, with physical invites also being handed out at Mobile World Congress. The invite says ‘Come and meet the next Galaxy’.

It mirrors the move made by Samsung last year, in which the manufacturer didn’t launch the Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress and instead showed it off at its Unpacked 2012 event on May 3, The phone then went on sale on May 30, with sales topping more than 40 million units worldwide.

Last month claimed it had received a tip from an insider at Samsung that the Galaxy S IV would be powered by a 2GHz quad-core processor and run Android 4.q2, also coming with a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED HD touchscreen, 13-megapixel rear camera and two-megapixel front camera.
