Targus enters smartphone accessories market


Range of 60 cases for the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy devices to go on sale from April

Laptop and tablet accessories manufacturer Targus has entered the smartphone accessories market with the launch of 60 cases.

The portfolio for the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models are split into four categories; ‘Premium Leather’, ‘Rugged Protection’ (pictured), ‘Everyday Essentials’ and ‘Made by Me’ – a personalisation range. They will be available from April in leading retailers and etailers, with pricing starting at £14.99.

Targus EMEA managing director john Savage said: “The smartphone accessory market has huge untapped potential. Our mission is clear; with only less than 30 per cent attach rate of smartphone accessories to hardware sales we will work with our customers and retail partners to take advantage of the massive smartphone opportunity and improve attach rates and increase margins on sales.

“By analysing the consumer journey and working in partnership with our retail partners, we have supported significant sales uplift across tablet and laptop categories and believe we can do the same in the smartphone market.”
