This year’s MWC broke records in terms of visitor numbers and exhibiting companies, as well as contributions to the local economy
Mobile World Congress 2013 saw a record number of visitors and exhibitors, the GSMA has announced.
Over 72,000 attendees from 200 countries went to the four-day conference, 3,400 of which were journalists and industry analysts.
More than 1,700 companies exhibited at MWC, across the 94,000 square metre venue.
Preliminary data shows the congress will have contributed more than 320 million Euros to the local economy, an increase of 19 million euros from 2012. The GSMA attribute this to the growth in attendance and exhibiting companies, as well as the larger venue and hospitality spaces.
