Three launches a new prime-time TV advertising campaign tonight (March 1) based on encouraging its customers to share funny videos through its network.

The advert shows a Shetland pony moonwalking and will have its premier during tonight’s episode of Coronation Street on ITV1 at 7.45pm.

Its tagline ‘Silly stuff. It matters’ is an attempt to get fans to share the clip on Twitter and upload their own funny clips online.

There are two versions of the advert, one lasting for a minute and a shorter version, which will run alongside four second ‘teaser’ adverts, social media adverts and a press and outdoor campaign.

Three marketing director Tom Malleschitz said: “Last year the average monthly data usage per mobile user on Three almost doubled to 1.3GB, showing a clear appetite for the mobile internet because this silly stuff really does matter.

“We’ve built an Ultrafast network and great value plans so that our customers can discover and share the stuff they love on the internet effortlessly, without worrying about the cost.”
