Beauty retailer adds 900 stores to Wi-Fi network which includes M&S, PizzaExpress, Caffè Nero and Greggs
Wi-Fi provider The Cloud has signed a deal with high street health and beauty retailer Superdrug to install a free service in its 900 UK stores.
Customers will be able to access the Wi-Fi in store for free and, according to the retailer, the service will allow people to research prospective purchases and browse online to enhance their shopping experiences.
The Cloud currently supplies free Wi-Fi in retailers across the high street at major outlets including PizzaExpress, M&S, Caffè Nero, Eat, Greggs, Pret and Wagamama, as well as on First Great Western and at most of the UK’s railway stations.
Superdrug marketing director Matt Walburn said: “We know how trend conscious our customers are and free Wi-Fi will allow them to go online to gain instant inspiration. The new technology will add an extra element of interaction and fun for our customers.”
The Cloud MD Vince Russell added: “Being able to use mobile to reach specific shoppers with the appropriate products when they are physically in the store is an invaluable opportunity. By improving the customer experience and creating a more personalised service, retailers can encourage sales at a time when consumers are feeling the pinch.
“With this free WiFi service, Superdrug is able to take advantage of the mobile boom now and in the future.”
