Manufacturer files a suit against Ericsson in the US claiming the company had demanded “unreasonable terms and conditions” in patent-licensing discussions
Samsung is counter-suing Ericsson in the US over alleged patent infringement.
Ericsson filed a suit against Samsung in November, claiming the South Korean manufacturer infringed its mobile-technology patents after the two failed to agree on licensing terms.
Samsung has now done the same, saying Ericsson infringed several of its patents including those related to data transmission.
The South Korean manufacturer said it was willing to licence the patents, but that Ericsson had demanded unreasonable terms and conditions.
Samsung said: “Ericsson no doubt has plans to extract unreasonable fees from the rest of the industry unless stopped by Samsung here.”
