Verizon has denied rumours it is looking to make a joint bid with other US operator AT&T for Vodafone
US operator Verizon has denied it is looking to buy Vodafone.
It was reported yesterday that Verizon and AT&T were in talks to make a joint £161 billion bid for the UK operator.
This means Verizon would buy back the 45 per cent stake Vodafone holds in Verizon.
But a statement from the US operator made last night said: “As Verizon has said many times, it would be a willing purchaser of the 45 per cent sake that Vodafone holds in Verizon Wireless. It does not, however, currently have any intention to merge with or make an offer for Vodafone, whether alone or in conjunction with others.”
