Parent company Google said Motorola lost £177 million in the first quarter of 2013, but that its revenues still made up 7 per cent of the search engine’s Q1 total
Motorola Mobile lost $271 million (£177 million) in the first quarter of 2013.
The loss represents a 27 per cent decline in the revenues of the manufacturer, which was acquired by Google last year.
Google said that in Q1 of this year, restructuring and related charges for Motorola Mobile came to $66 million (£43 million).
Motorola’s revenues for the first quarter were $1.02 billion (£665 million) or 7 per cent of Google’s consolidated revenues.
In March, Google said it it cutting 1,200 jobs at Motorola as part of its restructure of the company, in an attempt to return it to profitability.
