Some customers unable to access BlackBerry Services, which includes BBM and e-mail, on Friday afternoon
A number of BlackBerry customers in the UK were hit by an outage on Friday afternoon leaving them unable to use BlackBerry services.
According to the manufacturer customers reported problems with BlackBerry services early on Friday afternoon.
Following an investigation, the issue was fixed by half past three in the afternoon with customers notified over Twitter that a full service had been resumed.
The manufacturer refused to confirm details of how many customers were hit or which services were unavailable and for how long.
A spokesperson for BlackBerry said: “As an update, we can confirm that our technical teams have addressed the issue and BlackBerry services are returning to normal levels.
“We apologise to customers for any inconvenience. We take all service issues – no matter how small – very seriously and through constant monitoring and investigation we aim to ensure our network meets customer expectations.”
