Business communications provider Daisy Group has appointed former chief technology officer of 2e2, Nathan Marke, to take on the same role at the company.

Daisy, which provides mobile, voice and data services to over 65,000 business customers, said the role would focus on driving innovation across the business.

Marke previously worked for technology company 2e2, where he spent four and a half years as CTO. The company is now in administration.

Between June 1996 and March 2006 he worked as technology and marketing director for Prime Business Solutions, an office equipment supplier.

He also spent two years as an account manager with Ericsson.

Daisy Group chief executive officer Matthew Riley said: “As we look to scale our communications portfolio, it was essential we created this role. In Nathan we have got the technical skills and know-how that will enable us to develop our technology strategy and expand our service offering to a much more technology-hungry and demanding customer base.”

Marke said: “I am joining Daisy at an incredibly exciting time and, having begun my career in telecommunications when VoIP was in its infancy, it feels like I am returning to my roots.

“Over the past five years I have been working closely with enterprise customers helping them evolve their software and IT services strategies. I hope to bring this experience to the Daisy team as we seek to make our offerings increasingly relevant to our customers.”
