Social networking site is postponing the release, initially exclusive to EE in the UK, so it can concentrate on making improvements to it
Facebook has confirmed that EE and Orange are to delay from selling the HTC First in Europe so the social networking firm can improve the service.
Earlier today, Mobile News broke the story that the device would not go on sale in the UK this summer as originally planned.
The device, which was the first to come pre-loaded with the Facebook Home software, went on sale in the US on April 14. It was scheduled to be made available here in the coming months, initially exclusive with EE.
In a statement, Facebook said: “We’ve listened to feedback from users on their experience using Home. While many people love it, we’ve heard a lot of great feedback about how to make Home substantially better.
“As a result we’re focusing the next few months on adding customization features that address the feedback we received.
“While we focus on making Home better, we are going to limit supporting new devices and think it makes a lot of sense for EE and Orange to hold off deploying the HTC First in Europe.”
