Company also becomes ‘Presenting Partner’ of Athletics for 11-day sporting event taking place next summer
Virgin Media has been unveiled as the newest ‘Official Partner’ of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. It joins a list of official sponsors including Emirates, Toshiba, Dell and Ticketmaster.
The company will also further support the event as ‘Presenting Partner’ of Athletics.
The Games will take place from July 23 until August 3 next year and will feature 6,500 athletes and officials from across the Commonwealth. Over one million people are expected to attend the 11 day event.
Chairman of Glasgow 2014 Lord Smith of Kelvin said: “We are delighted to welcome Virgin Media into the Glasgow 2014 sponsor family and we are hugely excited to be working with such a fantastic partner. Virgin Media is a highly regarded company and has such a strong presence here in Scotland.”
