EE switches on 4G in 12 new UK towns


Oxford, Gillingham, High Wycombe, Oldham and Wigan get new 4GEE service 

EE has announced details of its latest batch of towns to receive its 4G service, taking the total number of areas up to 74 since within seven months.

The new areas covered are: Ashton-under-Lyne, Chatham, Gillingham, High Wycombe, Merthyr Tydfil, Oldham, Oxford, Rochester, Runcorn, Sale, Stafford and Wigan.

Its new launches come a day after the operator announced it was increasing its 4G offering to include 30-day SIM only plans starting at £23 for unlimited calls, texts and 500MB of data.

EE CEO Olaf Swantee said: “The pace of our 4G network roll out continues to keep us at the forefront of the UK mobile market. Just seven months after launch, we’ve covered millions of consumers and businesses with one of the fastest mobile networks in the world.”
