Nina Bibby, who has more than 20 years of UK and international marketing experience, to join the operator at the end of November
O2 has appointed Barclaycard global chief marketing officer Nina Bibby as its new marketing and consumer director. She will join at the end of November, following the departure of Sally Cowdry in April.
Bibby (pictured) will sit on the UK board, reporting to CEO Ronan Dunne. The role is currently being held on an interim basis by Gary Booker, who will return to his role as general manager of consumer marketing when Bibby joins.
She has more than 20 years marketing experience, most recently at Barclaycard for three years. Prior to that, she was senior vice president of global brand management at Intercontinental Hotels Group for three-and-a-half years and held several brand and strategy director roles over a nine year period at drinks firm Diageo.
Dunne said: “This is an exciting time for Telefónica in the UK and I am pleased someone of Nina’s calibre is joining us. As we move toward being a digital services company, Nina’s experience and energy will be invaluable in helping us to achieve that vision.”
Bibby added: “O2 is a great brand and I am excited to be joining such a strong team with clear ambitions to redefine the role the business will play for its customers as it evolves into a digital services company.”
