Compact version of the Galaxy S4, which has seen sales top 10 million just under a month since launch, to be unveiled to media and partners in London next month
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S4 Mini – a compact version of its bestselling smartphone, the Galaxy S4. It will be showcased at a launch event in London on June 20.
The Galaxy S4 Mini is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It also has a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOKED touchscreen with widescreen view.
It has an eight-megapixel rear camer and 1.9-megapixel HD front camera. Special features include ‘Sound&Shot’, which stores images and sounds together and ‘Panorama Shot’ allowing the user to take a full view of what they are seeing.
Another feature is ‘Story Album’, which automatically arranges photos in a smart format – pictures taken on the Galaxy S4 Mini are saved according to a user’s timeline, geo-tagging information or a specific event to create a photo album.
The device also includes ‘S Translator’ for instant translation using text or voice applications and ‘WatchON’, which enables the consumer to use the device as a remote control to control home entertainment systems including TV, set top box and DVD player.
The Galaxy S4 Mini will be available in black and white. There will be a 4G, 3G and 3G dual-SIM version. Details on which variants will be arranged in the UK and its shipping date will be announced in due course.
