TalkTalk Mobile introduces trio of Huawei devices

Devices include entry-level MediaPad 7 Lite, the first Huawei-branded tablet to launch in the UK

TalkTalk Mobile has announced it will range a trio of Huawei devices – the Ascend G510 smartphone, Ascend Y210 smartphone and the MediaPad 7 Lite tablet.

The Ascend G510 (pictured left) is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. It has a 4.5-inch screen with surround sound, five megapixel camera and Huawei’s Emotion UI running over the top of Android, which enables the user to place their most important applications and content in one place on the home screen.

It also incorporates Huawei’s power saving technology, which it said adds 30 per cent of power to the batter. It launches on June 4, available on contracts from £10 a month.

The Ascend Y210 runs Android and includes a two-megapixel camera and its own user interface, which enables one-step access to call, messaging and camera functions from the unlock screen. It is available from £5 a month on contract.

The entry-level MediaPad 7 Lite (pictured right) is the first tablet device under the Huawei brand to launch in the UK. It houses a Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor and runs Android. It also has a seven-inch scree, 3.2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front camera. It is available now bundled with a number of smartphones, including the Ascend Y210.

Huawei Device UK and Ireland director of product management James Powell said: “TalkTalk Mobile is bringing great technology and great value to its customers, and this chimes with our own strategy in the UK and is reflected in the new family of smart devices we are launching together.

TalkTalk Mobile director Dan Meader said: “Huawei has enjoyed a long and successful partnership with TalkTalk and we are delighted to be making these great value devices available to our customers.”
