Huawei launches ‘youth’ targeted Ascend Y300

Four inch device will be available for £59.95 on pre-pay from Carphone Warehouse

Huawei has announced its new mid-level smartphone, the Ascend Y300, will be released tomorrow (June 6) in Carphone Warehouse.

The handset will be aimed at the youth market and second-time smartphone owners, according to the manufacturer.

It retails for £59.95 on pre-pay and is free on contracts from £7.50 per month. The handset features a four inch touchscreen, one Ghz processor, five megapixel camera and runs Android Jelly Bean.

Huawei UK sales director Rhys Saunders said: “The partnership with Carphone will help cement Huawei’s products and brand firmly in the British consciousness in the coming months.”
