Updated Music Unlimited service now includes offline playback for iPhone users
Sony has to today (July 11) released an updated version of its free cloud based music streaming app, Music Unlimited.
The app, powered by Omnifone, is available via the Apple App store, is now compatible with the iPhone and iPod-Touch devices.
Features on the updated version include offline playback – allowing subscribers to listen to music even when not connected to a mobile or WiFi network.
Offline playback services were previously only available on the Android version of the app.
Music Unlimited first launched in 2010 and has a music catalogue or more than 20 million tracks. It is understood to have more than one million active users.
In addition to mobile handsets, the Music Unlimited app can be downloaded and played through a number of other devices, including PC’s, VAIO laptops and Playstation 3 consoles.
