Vodafone shakes up organisational structure

European regions to be merged in October under efficiency drive

Vodafone Group is to make major changes to its organisational structure in an effort to streamline operations and ensure it achieves its 2015 targets.

From October 1, the operator will merge its Northern & Central Europe and Southern Europe regions into one European region.

It said the changes will “accelerate growth in unified communications” and “achieve greater efficiencies from scale”.

Vodafone regional CEO Northern & Central Europe Philipp Humm will become regional CEO Europe.

In addition, its Turkish operating company will report within the Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific region to reflect its emerging market characteristics.

The company is also creating an overarching group commercial function to bring together brand, consumer, unified communications, terminals, customer operations and partner markets, as well as the recently-created group enterprise organisation.

Vodafone regional CEO Southern Europe Paolo Bertoluzzo will take responsibility for that as group commercial and operations officer.

Vodafone Group chief executive Vittorio Colao (pictured) said: “These organisational changes will allow us to improve the customer experience and develop our commercial strategy more quickly and consistently. I congratulate Paolo and Philipp on their new roles.”
