Mid-range device to go on sale in selected European markets from this month, with UK release date and stockists to be confirmed nearer the time
HTC is launching its Desire 500 smartphone in the UK. It will be available from mobile operators and retailers in select European markets from this month.
The Android-based Desire 500 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and has a 4.3-inch touchscreen, eight-megapixel rear camera combined with the dedicated HTC ImageChip processor, 1.6-megapixel front camera and HD video recording.
It also has 4GB on internal storage that can expanded by 64GB with a microSD card, and a 1,800 mAh battery that provides 12.1 hours of talk time on 3G.
‘HTC BlinkFeed’ is also featured, which streams breaking news and social networking posts to the phone’s home scree, as is ‘Video Highlights’, which takes stills and videos from one event or day’s shooting and compiles them into a 30-second reel, set to music according to one of six themes.
It will be available in black and blue, available with dual-SIM support and NFC in select markets.
