The handset was launched in New York today (August 7) and comes with 2GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera, and a 3,000mAh battery.
It is 4G enabled and runs on a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. The power and volume buttons have been moved from the side to the back of the device.
The manufacturer described the G2 as “the most exciting and ambitious phone in our company’s history.”
UK operator Three has confirmed it will sell the device from launch in October.
SIM-only pricing is yet to be revealed but LG said the handset would be free on contracts between £32 and £36.
Before coming to the UK, the G2 will go on sale in South Korea followed by North America and Europe.
