Toughshield boosts team in push on enterprise market

The rugged smartphone manufacturer has appointed six new senior staff members since May

UK smartphone manufacturer Toughshield has made two senior appointments as part of its plan to be a leading provider of rugged phones in the enterprise market.

Mark Davis joins the company as strategic planning director and Paul Murphy as European service manager.

Davis joins Toughshield from rugged mobile computer manufacturer Honeywell Scanning & Mobility where he was EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) market development manager, having previously held senior roles in business development and sales for Panasonic Toughbooks and technology company Intermec.

He will be responsible for developing Toughshield’s channel, sales and marketing strategy, and will also work on its application partner programme.

Commercial director Stig Hansen said: “Mark understands the rugged mobile sector. His industry experience and business development skills will be invaluable as we work to meet the growing demand for ruggedised enterprise smartphones.”

Murphy, who has also worked for Honeywell Scanning & Mobility and Intermec, as well as Motorola, will be responsible for service operations across Europe.

The two appointments are the latest in a line of recent additions to the Toughshield team. Since May this year it has recruited Merrick Edwards as business development director; Andy Lee as channel manager; Mercedes Gilkes as business development manager and Sue Osborne as channel manager.
